Let it snow..Snow.Snow.

Chicago land had 8-12 inches of snowfall today, people are busy out cleaning the driveways and walkways, lifting heavy snow. Long commute, too many accidents along the roads. The white snow shines in the light. While lifting the showel, felt the weight of the wet snow. Do you know how much the snow could weigh? The density of snow varies a lot. Lightly packed snowy powder weighs very little per cubic foot, where as slushy, wet snow can weigh over 20 pounds per cubic foot. Where are the store houses of snow up there? How are they kept? How does the Almighty send this down? Who are his agents? What does the Scripture (Bible) talk about the snow? Snow falls by the command of the LORD – Job 37:6, Psalm 148:8, Lord speaks and snow falls. God has storehouses of snow – Job 38:22, LORD questions Job to answer, have you entered the store houses of snow? The purpose of sending the snow is to water the earth

1. Snow is white. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Psalm 51:7.
All are stained by sin. Stained our thoughts, garments, attitudes, behavior and utterly spoiled us, made us unable to enter Gods presence and have communion with Him.
God did not leave us in the dirty state, he loved us so much. Gods love is expressed in Grace. God sent his son to rescue this dirty, spoiled people. As bible says, Christ died for us while we were yet sinners - Romans 5:8. God invites each of us to come to him through Christ Jesus that though, our sin is like scarlet red, he can make us white as snow.
"Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. - Isaiah 1:18.
Do you see yourself stained by sin, in your thought, word or and deed. Then come to the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone can cleanse your sin, and make you white as snow. I have asked him to do that in my life. How can our sins be forgiven? Great question! Should we visit few holy places or should we give some to charity? How? The scripture clearly says we cannot be saved by any other means except by the name of Lord Jesus Christ. Rom 10:13 says, "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." and also, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness - I John 1:9. So you can be cleansed by a prayer of confession with a repentant heart knowing that Christ Jesus alone can cleanse your sin. We are saved grace through faith – Ephesians 2:7, Just believe that Christ died for your sins on the cross, and cry out with a repentant heart.

2. Isaiah 55:10-11: For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

God send snow to water the earth and prepare the ground for the seed. It is the sower, who sows the seed, but God alone prepare the ground for the harvest. God gives the harvest, what we enjoy in life is God given, he makes the plants to grow. Psalm 147 is good picture of Gods provision. The snow sent from heaven accomplishes the purposes of water and preparing the ground, and is the Word of the Lord compared to it. It does its work and brings forth the fruit. God is sending the snow on the earth and word of God in your life, the hearts compared to the ground in Matthew 13 are prepared, but the questions are we bringing forth the fruit for the Lord.

3. Brightness of snow – Compared to the glory of the Lord. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow – Mathew 28:3. The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. – Revelation 1:14.
The appearance of the Lord is white as snow. Lords garment is as white as snow and his hair is as white as snow. This depicts the future glory that a believer in Christ would have. Now we our appearance is corruptible, we have to keep it up and mask it with different cosmetics and work on it. This is a corruptible body, our current appearance is not perfect, but not so in Glory we will be like Jesus – I John 3:2 - but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. When we are with the Lord out appearance will be glorious like Lord Jesus. One of the disciple of the Lord, John saw the risen Lord in the island of patmos – Rev 1:14, the three disciples got a glimpse of the glorious Lord on the mount of transfiguration. Apostle paul says in I Corinthians 15, the perishable will put on imperishable, mortal will put on immortality.

Do you have the assurance that you will be with the Lord forever, if not you pray the prayer of confession and believe in your heart that Christ Jesus died for your sins.

In Christ

Samson,

Clearly you were aiming to pay attention to the details regarding the Biblical use of "snow" but you tossed in one piece of NON-BIBLE tradition that doesn't stand up to Biblical scrutiny.

Certainly, one should not be presenting an idea as if it were Biblical if they cannot cite one verse that would justify teaching that idea. But here you have done just that.

Sadly most never take the time to subject the ideas that they are taught to Biblical scrutiny. Instead in direct violation of Ps. 118:8 they elect to put their confidence in something said by this-or-that man and then they proceed to reinterpret the words of scripture to fit the presupposition of that non-Bible source. Here we see that you have done this in regards to the John tradition that you promote above. You state that "John the beloved disciple saw the risen Lord in the island of Patmos" and yet the truth is there is not a single verse in scripture that would justify teaching that John was the anonymous disciple whom "Jesus loved". This unbiblical notion continues to be passed around simply because most will simply assume that this man-made tradition cannot be wrong and then seek to make scripture fit this man-made tradition. But if one will heed Ps. 118:8 then the NON-BIBLE sources on which this man-made tradition is based will give way to the facts stated in scripture which prove that NO MATTER WHO this anonymous author was he could not have been John.

Consider just one example, the disconnect between the BEHAVIOR of John who is willing to repeatedly identify himself by name in the book of Revelation as opposed to the anonymous author of the fourth gospel who goes to great lengths to conceal his identity. In fact promoters of this tradition that claim that the fourth gospel is "John's eyewitness testimony" but the FACTS presented to us in the plain text of scripture indicate otherwise. Here is the question for those who promote this idea: Since the author is presenting himself as an eyewitness do why are all of John’s most important eyewitness experiences in the ministry of Jesus missing from the fourth gospel?

The Mount of Transfiguration, the prayers of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane and the raising of the daughter of Jairus from the dead - the key moments of John’s involvement in the ministry of Jesus – are ALL missing from the fourth gospel. Why? Could it be the author of the fourth gospel (the unnamed "other disciple whom Jesus loved") was not an eyewitness to these events?

Worse yet, every time John is specifically mentioned by name as participating in an event in the first three gospels, that event is not found in the fourth gospel. It is indeed hard to understand why this would be the case if the unnamed "other disciple whom Jesus loved" was John, but it is easy to understand why this is the case if John wasn’t this author.

While the fourth gospel is for the most part an eyewitness account, the Biblical evidence can prove that this author, the one whom “Jesus loved”, was not John. As always, I challenge those who promote this erroneous, man-made tradition to produce just one verse that would justify teaching this tradition - but all they can point to is this-or-that NON-Bible source. (In opposition to Ps. 118:8) Got scripture? If not, you might want to check out the Biblical evidence on this topic presented at TheDiscipleWhomJesusLoved.com

Dear brother, I disagree to - I do not believe that Author of Fourth Gospel is Lazarus, You are reading too much into the scripture...John 11 passage when Mary and Martha send a word..The one you loved is only a phrase but does not confirm that Lazarus is author of Gospel of John. Instead - John 13:23.
I want to stress that Fourth Gospel purpose is John 20:31 - For people to believe Jesus is Son of God, not to portray the author. I know and have read several scholarly articles about the authorship of Fourth Gospel.
